Hey everyone, long time no see.

Figured an update is in order, considering how long it has been since the post, and how much has happened. First of all, Happy New Year! Hope your 2011 has been great.

2011 for PeopleKlick has been a time of redefinition and exciting news. There will be more to announce in the coming weeks, but we're under construction and working on a mobile app. We're working with some great people, new and old, and hope to see you soon.

Since PeopleKlick is all about sharing fun things online, I'm going to start sharing videos every so often that users submit to PeopleKlick. I'll keep them as short as possible, but definitely keep things fresh and different each time.

We've come to realize a lot of PeopleKlick users are pretty cool people, and they're also very funny and creative. So in anticipation for our August launch of the new PeopleKlick.com, we're going to hold a contest to give something back! There's a great prize up for grabs: a $50 Apple iTunes Gift Card (good for iTunes, iPhone/iPod/iPad apps and more)!

Rules/Requirements:
1. "LIKE" PeopleKlick.com on Facebook (LINK!)
2. Invite your friends to "LIKE" us, too.

Heatwaaaave. and EXCITING NEWS!

Hey everyone--

Has it really been this long since my last post? Wow! Been pretty busy, but checking in quickly with some exciting news.

First of all, NYC and the Tri-State area has had some ridiculous weather lately. From amazing lightning storms to 90(+)-degree days, it has been sticky for a while. If you're in the area, stay cool and hydrated, and better weather is on the way!

Aside from finding ways to keep cool, we've been pretty busy working on the new PeopleKlick. So here comes the exciting news. The new PeopleKlick will launch in August. Insanity! How exciting. We're going to celebrate/prepare with a contest for our blog friends, Twitter friends, Facebook friends, you-name-it, and hope you're going to join in the fun. All details to come on Tuesday (and there will be prizes!!!). So please get excited and hope to see you guys Tuesday with more info.

Party in the City Where the HEAT is On... #lebronjames

Hey everyone. Don't know about you, but this LeBron James Decision has been a huge deal. So huge that ESPN hosted a one-hour special at 9pm discussing what LeBron would do (until 9:30) and then discussing what he did (until 10:00). And, like you, I was sucked in and watched at least half of the special. So congrats LeBron, congrats Miami Heat, and congrats ESPN. The self-proclaimed "King James" was a moneymaking machine last night! Did you see those vitaminwater commercials? Brilliant. I was not too sure about why "The Decision" was presented on ESPN by The University of Phoenix. I mean, LeBron dominated during his high school career and went straight to the NBA -- no easy feat. Were they trying to hint that LeBron could complete his college degree online? #bold

Also, Cleveland Cavalier Majority Owner Dan Gilbert wrote an open letter to Cavalier fans commenting on King James' decision last night. In case you haven't read it, check it out here: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5365704. #bold #again

Lance Armstrong and Happy Fourth

As this Friday rolls on, many are prepping the pools, cleaning the barbecue grills, packing the car with beach toys and getting ready for a relaxing and fun weekend. What are your plans? Traveling? Pool partying? BBQing? Whatever you do, hope it's fun.

As I was figuring plans for this weekend I came across this article in the Washington Post online: click. It is about Lance Armstrong deciding to enter his last Tour de France -- this is his 13th -- at the age of 38. Wow- this man is a warrior in all senses of the word, but this sounds intense. A 2,263-mile trek is no joke. This Tour is supposed to be exciting because of the quality of competition but Armstrong is sure to give the race a boost. I am fascinated by what this guy can do, and I am not sure if he will take first place, but he will probably wear the yellow jersey more than once this time around.

As I was doing more planning I realized it is going to be 96 degrees in New York City on Sunday. Hope you all have great weather too and Happy Fourth!!!

Swype: Yea or Nay?

An interesting article just came out on NYTimes.com about this new software developed for touch-screen phones (LINK). This can help people type faster and more accurately on their touch screen phones -- seven US phones already use the software, including the HTC HD2 and the Samsung Omnia II. Check out this YouTube video the NYTimes article points out to see the software in action. Let me know your thoughts - is this a good idea? I don't have a touch-screen phone but this might be something cool enough to make a switch.

Hey! I hope your weekend is off to a great start. Much has happened since my last post- the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Finals again and Kobe Bryant was named MVP (again). Congrats to all those Laker fans pulling through for them on Thursday night! Our Twitter feed was constantly updating with #lakers and #celtics hashtags. It's hard to decide which was more entertaining... the game, the Twitter feed, or Ron Artest's thank you speech at the end of the game. He was so happy, scored 20 points(!) and was clearly overwhelmed with emotions... well, check it out for yourself: YouTube.

Still upset about the tie** between US-Slovenia and some questionable calls made that day. Moving along.. this weekend is the last weekend of SPRING 2010 and summer is officially here! It's currently 75 degrees in NYC, 90 in Miami, and 65 degrees in LA (it's still 8:30 in the morning there).

We're still working hard on the new look, so don't worry if you don't recognize us after the "makeover". Keep sending us this great content. World Cup, NBA Finals, BP Disaster, and a new PeopleKlick!

Hey everyone! Jen here, with an update that is long overdue. We finalized the new concept for PeopleKlick and have been working tirelessly to get it set up. We're still programming and coding the new pages for you and hope to get it out as soon as possible- we're a small team but are determined to show you what we've developed. Here's a sneak peek at the new look- more of a clean design and a more organized layout.

In other news, GO USA! We started out with a tie and play Slovenia Friday. Get reaaaaady! Can someone send us a vuvuzela??!?!? These are spectacular.

NBA Finals, don't get me started! It's exciting to watch these games. Lakers and Celtics always give a great show and this years games have been no exception. The players and the fans are intense! But I am still a little bitter about my Knicks not making it. Don't judge me! "I'm a Knicks fan I gotta stay true, yes I do! Are you down with the orange and the blue?" 20 points to whoever remembers that!!!

Also, it is Day 57 since the BP oil spill disaster happened. And still the leak has not been plugged. Insanity! ...If my second-grade self spilled something hazardous on the cafeteria floor and did not pick it up, I would get in SOOOOO much trouble. Like detention. AFTER I scrubbed it clean with a toothbrush. I'm just saying.

New things coming up & TWITTER is wonderful!

Hey everyone, long time no post. Just wanted to write a quick note letting you know what's new and exciting over at PeopleKlick.

We are currently testing and integrating our much anticipated second-level of PeopleKlick. It looks really cool! But the bugs still need to be fixed, and we need to fully integrate it into PeopleKlick.com. Once we release it, our existing members will know first via email, then our Twitter followers (@peopleklick - follow us!), and then our blog followers and Facebook members. It is going to be much easier to see more than the Top 5s, and submitting links will be easy-as-pie.

Also, we are revamping the look of PeopleKlick. One of the best things about being in BETA means that we can do makeovers based on what you guys (users) want to see. Keep the feedback coming: DM us on Twitter, Facebook us, comment here, check our Youtube page out... let us know what you want!

Just to quickly address why "TWITTER is wonderful!": We have made friends with people from all over, and have received some of the most useful feedback through Twitter. I think it is the 140-character update. It is a quick note, and if you follow us, you can most definitely expect a follow back. So get in touch with us!!!

This week has been really exciting. Our user count has grown at its fastest rate since January and we've been getting more new international hits than ever before! But probably the coolest thing is having reviews turn up when we Googled "PeopleKlick". Check out this new review from KillerStartups.com! Thanks to users sharing PeopleKlick with friends on Twitter, Facebook and other kind of status updates, we've been able to grow. Please Keep Klicking while we prepare to launch the second layer of our website. This second level (I keep talking about it and cannot wait for it to happen) will make for a much more user-friendly experience- link submission will be a main feature and you will be able to see fellow users' submissions!

Also, we've gotten a lot of the emails talking about the quality of the content found on PeopleKlick. While we provide our own suggestions as users of the website, too, the content comes from you! Please help keep our content fresh and exciting by submitting your own Top 5 suggestions.

Hey guys - we've launched! It's been an exciting (almost) two weeks and we're getting hits from all over the world. Who knew it would reach that many people? ;)

We're continuing our work to provide the best of the best here on the Internet, and are working on improvements to the site. Some of you have suggested more interactivity, so we're bringing that to you.

Some of you are commenting on how fresh the content is, and how interesting these stories are. We can't take all of the credit, because this content is generated by users like you, from all over the globe. Like the stories? Vote for your favorite one. Maybe you found a funny video that you don't see here? Submit it and it will have a better chance of appearing on the Top 5.
